Katie is this year's Carnival Princess

THIS year's Hinckley Carnival Princess is 15-year-old Katie Pinnock, who was crowned following a competition featuring over 30 other girls at Hinckley WMC.
And accompanying Katie at the head of the procession on Carnival Day (6th June) will be her attendants Megan Truslove (12) Alexandra Wade (8) Kimberley Senior (6) Chloe Dawson (11) Bryna Sayers (6).
The judges of the compeition included the Mayor and Mayoress of Hinckley & Bosworth, Councillor and Mrs Keith Nichols, as well as last year's Carnival Queen Amy Taaffe (representing sponsors Artography) and representatives of the other major sponsors: Balloonatics (who also supplied a decorative balloon arch on the day), Ladybuggs (who provided all the flowers for the winners) and Chorus Line and Kennedy’s Hair (who will be supplying the dresses and hairdressing to the Princess and her attendants on Carnival Day).
The event proved popular with family members, who turned out to support all the girls taking part.
There was also a buffet for people to enjoy, while David Widdowson and Len Browett provided the disco and PA system respectively.
The audience was also entertained by Fusion, a four-piece girl band including Carnival committee member Leanne Pratt, who organised the whole event.
The staff at the WMC were fantastic too, not only giving the room and general help, but they also stepped in to help cook and prepare all the food, so the Carnival committee wish to extend a special thanks to everyone at the club for all their help.
There were a number of prizes provided for the winners and also donated as raffle prizes for which the committee would like to give thanks.
